What will I earn after joining Merchant Navy (Pay Package?)
The salary could be anywhere between Rs. 12000 to Rs. 8 lakhs per month depending on the pay structure and job profile of the company you are joining. A Junior Engineer on a ship can earn around Rs. 30,000 per month with benefits like free boarding and loading while signed on board the vessel. As engineer at sea earns Rs. 1.5 lakhs per month or more net of taxes. Eligibility Criteria
- Students who have cleared class 12th exams with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible.
- The aspirant should be unmarried Indian citizen (male or female).
- The vision is normal but glasses up to plus or minus 2.5 may be allowed.
- The admission is through the main written examination which is followed by the screening test.
- The aspirants have to face an interview and a medical test post qualifying the written test.
- Just prior to the employment you have to complete a ship training course. The course trains the candidates with basic security concerns of voyaging.
