Whitaker International Undergraduate Scholarships Programme, 2014

The grant of which we are talking is tendered by the Institute of International Education and is for pursuing undergraduate degree level in the field of Biomedical or Biomedical field. In order to lay application for the above mentioned aid the concern applicants must be currently enrolled as a second, third or senior year undergraduate Biomedical or Bioengineering student from a U.S. institution at the time of the scholarship, with at least one semester remaining at their home institution upon completion of the award. The number of the grants is thirty offered for the academic year. It can be taken at Abroad except Canada.


  • About the eligibility:-

If you meet the following requirements, one or more of the Whitaker International Programs may be right for you.

You must:

-Have U.S. citizenship OR be a permanent legal resident of the U.S.

-Be in the field of biomedical engineering/bioengineering or a closely-related field (Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with substantive interest and background in Biomedicine). *

-Be no more than 3 years from the receipt of your most recent degree, or be currently enrolled.

-Have language ability to carry out the proposed project in the host country at the time of departure.

  • About the nationality:-

The students of USA can submit an application for the scholarships.

  • About the awards:-
  1. 30 Scholarships are offered.

  1. Scholarship is offered for the academic year.

  1. Grants are for a one academic term or an academic year.  No summer grants are available.  Benefits include:

-Up to a $7,500 scholarship for one semester/academic term

-Up to a $10,000 scholarship for the academic year

  1. Notification:  Within 6 weeks of the application deadline for each term (fall/Academic Year and spring).

  1. The mode of applying is electronically. The below forms are required components of a complete application, and must be submitted online.

-Essay on why you wish to participate in your chosen study abroad program (two pages)

-One Reference

-Cost of Study Abroad Program – completed by Study Abroad Advisor

-Amount of Financial Aid received towards program – completed by Study Abroad Adviser

-Study Abroad Advisor approval of the Study Abroad Program

-One set of Official Transcripts

-A letter of acceptance from the approved Study Abroad Program must be submitted in hard copy to IIE at the below address, if awarded the scholarship
