KOICA Scholarship 2018 Korea for International Students

KOICA Scholarship providing agency (Korea International Cooperation Agency) was launched as a government agency on April 1, 1991, with a view of maximizing the effectiveness of Korea’s grant aid programs for developing countries by implementing the government’s grant koica scholarshipaid and technical cooperation programs.

KOICA Scholarship  Program for 2018 Eligibility

Applicants for KOICA Scholarship Programs must satisfy both the general eligibility criteria and specific criteria established for each course. Applicants will also need to satisfy all requirements of the Korea Immigration Service.

Applicants must:

  1. Be a government official, an employee in the public sector, or a researcher in a state institute working in his/her home country with a bachelor’s degree or higher.
  2. -Private sector employees are not eligible. However, if the applicant works in a development nongovernmental organization (NGO) or UN-associated organization, he/she can apply on the condition that he/she obtains a recommendation from the government ministry which covers the organization.

The duration of the award is subject to change depending on each university’s schedule.

There are usually two selection rounds annually. There are two rounds for each selection: the document review and the telephone interview (an “essay test” may be included in some cases). (Master’s and PhD) Scholarships for Southeast Asians, by SEARCA, 2014-2015

Introduction to provider and scholarship:-

The provided graduate scholarship was commenced in academic year 1968-69 and intends to make certain the relevance and reaction of Southeast Asia’s agricultural scientists and professionals to global sustainable development issues. The offered program provides support for sophisticated studies leading to the MS and PhD degrees in agriculture, forestry, and related fields. SEARCA endeavors to set up highly qualified professionals working in agricultural and rural development for positions of leadership in SEAMEO member countries. As of School Year 2009/2010, SEARCA has granted 1,250 scholarships, of which 1,056 study programs (448 PhD, 608 MS) had been completed.

The program mentioned here is made available for pursuing graduate studies (Master’s and PhD), and provides support for advanced studies leading to the Master’s and PhD degrees in agriculture, forestry and related fields, by The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) which can be taken at Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines and Thailand.

The eligibility criteria and international applicability:-

The grant is “Open to nationals of SEAMEO member countries, namely: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam, who are regular employees of academic or research institutions or government agencies. Applicants must not be more than 35 years old. Proposed thesis research of applicants should focus on SEARCA’s priority thrusts. The scholarship is open to nationals of Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.

 

Applying procedure and Deadline:-

Applications may be submitted to any one of the following Ministries of his/her own country: Ministry of Education, Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Forestry, Ministry of Fisheries and Ministry of Rural Development. Applications may be submitted directly to the Ministry of Education/Higher Education, or to the Ministry where the applicant is employed for preliminary screening. The Ministry where the applicant is employed may conduct preliminary screening of applicants and submit their nominations and the application documents to the Ministry of Education/Higher Education, which will then include the nominees of other Ministries in the final list of candidates to be submitted to SEARCA. Alternatively, the other Ministries may opt to just receive applications and forward these, without preliminary screening, to the Ministry of Education/Higher Education.

ASEAN Graduate Students Exchange Program to be had at Chulalongkorn University, Thailand 2013/2014

Chulalongkorn University “Faculty of Political Science” is putting forward a 4-months exchange program invitation to graduate students from 9 ASEAN countries (Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, and the Philippines) who are concerned to join the program in Master of Arts in International Development Studies (MAIDS).
