AERC-World Bank offered Fellowships Program for currently enrolled PhD aspirants, 2013

The offered Robert S. McNamara Fellowships Program is provided by African Economic Research Consortium-World Bank for candidates currently enrolled in a PhD program that is located outside their home country and in a member country of the World Bank. Fellowships are available for 5-10 month period for travel and conduct PhD studies / research at the Office of the Chief Economist of the Africa Region at the World Bank. The eligible students must be from developing countries. Further it can be taken at Africa.

  • About the eligibility:-

45 years old or under

-Home country is a developing country

-Currently enrolled in a PhD program that is located outside their home country and in a member country of the World Bank.

-Professional ties to academic or research institutions located in their home country, indicating intent / commitment to return home after attaining PhD

-Have a master’s degree

  • About the awards:-
  1. Up to 2 awards are offered.

  1. Fellowships are offered for a 5-10 month period between December 2013 and November 2014.

  1. Up to US$25,000 for a 5-10 month period between December 2013 and November 2014 for travel and conduct PhD studies / research at the Office of the Chief Economist of the Africa Region at the World Bank.

  1. Up to 2 awards will be announced in November 2013.

  1. The mode of applying is by post and electronically.

  1. The application deadline is July 31, 2013.
